Another Vestraea redesign because I wasn't satisfied with the last one. Just felt too lazy. I knew in my heart of hearts i couldve done better, so I set forth to make things right.

Vestraea is a bit of an offensive character, not in the sense that she's an offensive stereotype, but in the sense that she's the type to go out of her way to offend people. In other words, she's a troll, willing to say things she doesn't believe for the sole purpose of pissing people off. Unlike most trolls though, she's not afraid to take a punch. Gives her the perfect excuse to punch back. Her friends usually have to defuse the situation before it gets to that though.

She used to be a grunt for an evil ethnosupremacist empire (probably where she gets the rhetoric from). I can't really compare it to Nazi Germany for a number of reasons. First, the Vespid Empire was a Monarchy, rather than National Socialists. Collectivists, sure, but decisively hierarchical ones. Secondly, while Nazi Germany wielded some of the most advanced weapons systems for their time, the Vespids had skipped several milestone technologies in favor of Magic. To illustrate, they never invented gunpowder (their ranged weapons were basically magic blasters), nor had they even thought of the concept of mass production. That's right. A space faring empire that had never stopped relying on artisans for everything.
For centuries they had relied upon the sheer power their Invocation-based magic had offered to crush "lesser beings", and never really had a reason to think of mass production. It wasn't until their war with the Galactic Federation of Drusson that this came to bite them in the ass. While the quality of their military equipment was unparalleled, it was also exorbitantly expensive to replace. That, alongside their war doctrines being decades behind the Federation led to a war that barely lasted half a decade. Always a bigger fish, they say...

So, all that to say, Vestraea is a racial supremacist who hasnt seen another of her own kind in nearly five years. Her ideology is something she only loosely clings onto now, mostly as a way of getting into fights. Really though, her only real motivation is to eventually die a warriors death. She doesn't really care how or why. Just as long as it's someone else that does her in. And when she isn't picking fights, she's content to drown her regrets and sorrow in alcohol.

One of the things about this group I've made is that they all started out with a lot of tension between themselves. Unlikely allies, as it were. The main reason they all choose to stick together is largely due to a lack of options given their unique circumstances. Can you really call it a proper band of misfits if nobody disagrees on anything meaningful? Lookin' at you, Concord.

Maybe I get cancelled for this? Whatever. I gotta go to bed.

Now, for all she knows she’s the last wasp in the galaxy. Probably why the sword hates her so much.

Well, here's Morganne's partner, Vess. Full name: Vestraea Athenûra. She's a depressed drunkard sellsword who's stuck out with the 'Cap because she really wants to get in her pants. Also because they both hate the ATF, but mostly because gay. The backstory I've cooked for her is... kinda really edgy. Not sure now's the best time for it. Just know that she's not really a good person, but when you live like Morganne does, you don't really get to choose your friends.

But yeah, it was really fun redesigning her after all this time. Insectoids are a really interesting challenge for me. The way I designed her species makes it look like they're wearing full plate mail at all times, even when they're naked. I kinda incorporated that into her species' backstory making them extremely warlike as a result of their natural armor. That's also why the Vespids tend to make such skimpy armor.

Insect Anthros, they are rare and sometimes difficult to nail “just right”.
I was looking back at my older art and I remembered that I had an old Hornet lady named Veronica Vespa.
I don’t draw many insect ladies in general, so I thought I’d give a Hornet another try.
Originally, this was going to be a replacement for Veronica in general, but with a dozen scrapped attempts, I decided to make this into a different character in general.
So this is Blanche Bellerose, a Bald-Faced Hornet.
Yes, they are black and white, and super aggressive too.
Seemed like a good combo for a feisty little shortstack.
I leaned into some Mega Man inspiration for Blanche, with some rounder robotic proportions.
Personally, I’m happy with the way Blanche turned out.
The shades of pink really pop against the black and white.
I’m going to try to revisit Blanche in the future and most likely give Veronica a redesign as well.
Because, it’ll be nice to have some anthro insects in the rotation.

Illuminated only by the warm glow of the bedside torch, two insectoids loosened their tight grip on each other as one of them - one marked with reddish colours - shifted and let his lower hand slide down from its resting spot atop his partner's chest; moving down that chitinous body chiselled to be the perfect masterpiece of god himself. Down that chitinous body and down between his legs where those red digits would spread out and embrace two thickened rods, squeezing them firmer together before sliding even further down, pulling on any skin and exposing any glans to the cool air within the chamber.

Silent save for an occasional chitter or a pleasant sigh, the duo's heads danced together in unison: one's movements would follow the other; eyes so large and capable of seeing so much, yet only ever focused on just one thing - each other; each antennae gently wrapping themselves around its contrastingly-coloured counterparts, filling both males with not just a strong sense of touch, taste, smell, but also sending electrifying shivers down their whole bodies that would only elicit further throbbing in certain regions as the pair placed their mandibles in front of each other and then gently opened them, allowing their tongues to finally touch and embrace much like they themselves have been doing for the past hour.

Their conversation has long died down before all this and it would appear there was no possibility of its return as each voice was now muffled, barely able to slip out past their interconnecting lips -- and those few parts of it that did escape were nothing more than gentle groans of burning passion. Albeit, admittedly, as Shay's hand found an appropriate fast pace to move at, those voices found more and more success in escaping their masters. The night was still young, however -- who could tell where carnal desires and instincts would take the Mantis Lord and the Ra'ak Hive Queen?

Although it has been nearly 800 years since the 'negotiation of co-operation' done by Lord Shay on behalf of the future Queen T'Salyaku along with the then-Guardian Riocynn (and a future Ra'ak Queen himself), some things just never ever change: neither the rustling of leaves outside under a howling wind, the rhythmless tapping of rain, nor the purity of love.
