 Nalyvia, the Bound Demoness
In the depths of the Abyss, where shadows coil and whisper the desires of the damned, Nalyvia was once free. A lesser demoness, but not powerless—she carved a life for herself among the ever-shifting territories of her kin. She was no warlord nor a queen, but she longed for more than the stagnant existence of the Abyss. She wanted power, influence, a legacy that would echo through the infernal planes.

Her Downfall
Ambition, however, is a dangerous thing when wielded without caution. When the whispers of a higher being reached her—offering her the means to rise beyond her station—she did not hesitate. The entity, one whose name is lost to time but whose presence left her breathless, promised everything: strength, knowledge, dominion over others. All it required was her submission to a pact.

Blinded by desire, she agreed.

But the contract was not what she believed. The moment the ritual was complete, searing chains of dark energy wrapped around her, piercing through her soul like hooks through flesh. She screamed, but her voice was swallowed by laughter—cold, distant, amused. The being had no intention of granting her dominion; it had instead shackled her essence to a relic of its own creation.

The Abyssal Pendant, a small but exquisitely crafted black gemstone set in an obsidian frame, became her prison. With a final whisper of farewell, the entity discarded the pendant into the mortal realm, where fate would dictate the course of her servitude.

A Century and More in Chains
For 135 years, Nalyvia has known only servitude. The pendant has passed through the hands of warlocks, thieves, aristocrats, and murderers. Some masters treated her as a tool, others as a confidant, and a few as something far worse. Each time the pendant was claimed, her will bent to its bearer. She could not disobey, nor could she harm those who held it.

Some wielded her with greed, forcing her to destroy their enemies. Others sought knowledge, using her as an advisor, a spy, or a keeper of secrets. A few, rare souls saw her as more—a being trapped in a cruel fate.

Yet, no matter how many wielded the Abyssal Pendant, none ever freed her. Some masters died, some abandoned her when they tired of her, and others lost the pendant to thieves or fate. When no one holds it, she is cast into an empty pocket dimension—a cold, timeless void where she waits, alone, until the pendant is found again.

The Rules of Her Curse

She must serve the wielder of the Abyssal Pendant. Their will becomes her law.

She cannot harm her master directly. No blade, no magic, no poison of her own can end their life.

She can, however, influence their decisions, whispering ideas, subtly leading them astray—or towards redemption, should she choose.

If a master leaves the pendant untouched for too long, she is cast into the void until a new one claims it.

She can attempt to convince her master to give the pendant away—to someone of her choosing. But they must willingly hand it over.

Who She Is Now
Nalyvia is no longer the naive demoness who once dreamed of power. She has seen the full spectrum of mortal ambition—greed, kindness, cruelty, love. She has watched empires rise and fall, seen men and women consumed by their own desires, and felt the cold indifference of time pass over her like a relentless tide.

She is neither purely bitter nor entirely resigned. She knows she is capable of so much more than servitude. But with every master comes the question—will they be the one to free her? Or will they be just another link in her unbreakable chain?

If she ever does find a way to break the curse, what will she become?

Would she return to the Abyss, vengeful and wrathful, seeking the entity that tricked her?

Or has she spent too long among mortals to ever go back?

The story of Nalyvia is far from over.
