Merga x Rouge: First Date

Story

(Another commission by Xao (https://twitter.com/xao_art). This one is in celebration of "Sonic X Shadow: Generations", which came out recently. It would seem that, after Merga spent some time in Mobius, she and Rouge wound up becoming a couple! Don't worry. Rouge hasn't forgotten about Shadow and she still loves him greatly. I'll eventually write a story that gives this more context, but, for now, here's a summary of what happened that led to this crossover pairing!)

"When Merga found herself in Mobius, she desired a quiet life. Instantly trying to start her own flower selling business, she would find herself in need of a place to sleep. Needing a job, she discovered that a certain bat mobian needed a babysitter for her recently born child, given that her boyfriend had vanished (VERY long story). This was how the Water Dragon met Rouge and became her roommate alongside E-123 Omega.

At first, the two were simply acquaintances, but Merga turned out to be a great babysitter. Rouge could also tell the Water Dragon was in need of a friend. Pretty soon, the two began to hang out more, with Merga learning more about Mobius in the process. Rouge also noticed that, in a few ways, Merga was much like her missing lover, Shadow. Mainly, brooding and powerful, yet also warm-hearted and still feeling the pain of the past.

Already, Merga began to develop feelings for the beautiful bat mobian, as she was a wonderful mixture of mischievous and kind. She was even bringing out some of the Water Dragon's own mischievous side. She knew that Cordelia would have wanted her to be happy, so she decided to follow her heart. Rouge would admit that her heart still belonged to Shadow, but she had recently found a message from the hedgehog mobian that, should his mutations run out of control (which they did), he would want his best friend and lover to find happiness as well, giving his blessing to anybody who courted the bat mobian, as long as she was happy in the end.

Thus, Merga and Rouge went on their first date, the two finding that they shared an equal level of passion when talking about their hobbies (horticulture and gemstones, respectively). Eventually, Rouge's hand would find itself over Merga's, the Water Dragon feeling a great deal of warmth in her heart. A warmth she had missed after not feeling it for so many years."

You know what, uploading this at night seems pretty fitting since the moon is kinda important to Merga in Freedom Planet's 2 plot. Anyway, as you can see from the title this is a new character from The Succubus Hunt series like the Vaporeon Rapper but she actually has a name. Miranda is actually the name that she decided to go with after her new human boyfriend, Michael, starts to have some second thoughts about dating someone who looks like Merga when he realizes that the character herself already have someone she loves, but I'm getting too ahead of myself.

Miranda is one of the prize Succubi, just like Meri, who is a volunteer for Leader's game. As she states she's one of the many Succubi who got very curious about the others getting very interested in the Furry Fandom due to Leader's side business. She's going to be a Succubus who gets too hooked into the idea of being the ideal Furry Waifu, starting with how their bodies feel very different from their human forms, and how even kissing as an anthro character is alot more pleasuable than being a human. But the other side of effect of being Merga is keeping up with the human's ideal role for the character.

You might notice that she's speaking pretty formally right now and those that know Merga understands that while Merga is a centuries-old warrior who was awakened from being sealed away, she doesn't speak that formally. She may be a bit dramatic at times but I don't think Merga is the kind of character who would say ""Indubitably" unless she was maybe mocking the nobles she was with in her time. Well, this is because since she has a throne and everything in the game proper, Michael ended up getting the idea of Merga being some sort of Warrior Queen, and Miranda plays into that Queen part of the character a little too hard. Especially since before they actually met, Miranda was looking into Michael's imagination and realized that Merga cannot just be taken to Michael through kidnapping or having a surprise meeting with him without arousing his suspicion that the Merga he's speaking to is the Succubus Miranda. So she decided to make it seems like she's working with the other Succubi instead of him showing up in her throne and then just accepting his love for her.

I should probably explain a bit more about Miranda's Role as a Prize Succubus. They're basically the main motivation of the captured Furry to actually try to win "The Hunt" against the other Succubi who were pursuing him as literal animals that as explained in the Pony comic, force the misconception about Furries "prefering animals" to become a reality. Should the captured Furry win, they get to win their true prize, the chance to seduce the anthro character of their dreams.
But there is one final test as Miranda explains a bit, and that is to simply give into your lust for that character and act on your desires immediately upon meeting them will be automatic game over for the game and failure to overcome that particular part of Sin which is what Succubi were made for in the first place. This failure will allow all the Succubi that were chasing down their victim to be free to do whatever they want with him, including the Prize Succubus herself. The best way to past the test is to do what Michael says in the comic and show that you're not trying to go ahead and try to make the girl love you as soon as you see them and show some restraint.

However, there is a bit of strange thing about the Prize Succubi and that is what they're supposed to do when the victim wins. Normally, they would do what Miranda did and just try out the new body for themselves on the winner, but that's not really supposed to happen. But it was thanks to Meri that most Succubi like Miranda ended up belieinvg what is supposed to happen when a victim wins the game. What really is supposed to happen is that the human is supposed to go and enjoy their new freedom and the same goes with the Volunteer Prize Succubi. The Volunteer Succubus can go back home or try to seduce the winner themselves but without any of their usual seducing powers. Because it isn't that really clear, Succubi like Miranda would like to claim the winning human almost immediately, especially since it usually means no other Succubi can't interfere without a deal being made first. And super especially if it's supposed to happen after a demon game. But at the end of the day here, it's actually the Volunteer Succubus that decides whether or not to puruse the human or go on their Merry way. Basically what's supposed to happen after a human wins is still up in the air and still being changed every now and then to accommodate the interested Succubi.

Now that we're back to Miranda her particular problem is that she ends up liking being Merga a lot, especially since her body is based off of Michael's imagination. However she tries a bit too hard to emulate the "Warrior Queen" personality that Michael has about Merga, that her friends and sisters ended up noticing her brand new speech patterns despite her efforts to hide it. But that's a story for another day and that's the reason why "Merga" speaks much more formally than she needs to.

(Slight Introduction: Howdy, I'm "DripDobbit" on FurAffinity and such. This is my first time posting anything here so I hope you all like it!)

So after playing Freedom Planet 2 recently: I became a simp for this water dragon lol.

I took some suggestions from friends and tried plumping her up

First doodle is sitting on her throne while realizing her outfit is starting to have some issues.

Second doodle is a complete wardrobe malfunction that caught her by surprise. (If you're wondering why it looks weird, that's because I tried doing one of those "Low Angle Where You're Looking Up At The Subject"

Not my best work but I'm still quite happy with how it turned out because it ended up looking much better than I would've expected. Welp, can't improve if you don't try!
