⮚ "Hibernating" ⮘ Sketch by Yaroul. Color and description by MrMellow. In the middle of summer. To an untrained eye, a pandaren who appreciates the finer drinks in life lives in a state phasing in and out of functional alcoholism, but the truth is that they know when to drink. Their lives flow free, but their days are structured with leisure time. After Legionfall and then a war, Tiya got in touch with her kind in an effort to become less of a stick-in-the-mud, and a mildly inebrious habit developed. As such, when there aren’t obligations on the morrow, a little social - or private - sampling of a given brew is due. One summer morning, Esu returned from a job in The Barrens to find the results of such a drink-heavy evening. The faint smell of uncorked plum wine hit her first, before the sight of Tiya lying on the bed. Parted curtains cast a pillar of radiance across her bare chest. Her snoring was gentle and precious, in perfect contrast to the wildly unladylike posture she’d finagled her body into. The blanket was in disarray, having slid halfway off the mattress. Tiya’s arm rested dangerously close to the foot of the bed, as she’d managed to align herself exactly opposite to where she needed to be, with her feet by the pillows. Esu, having risen before the break of dawn, needed no further convincing to fix the cover and take a nap. Pandaren don’t hibernate, but don’t put it past one to sleep like a wild beast in metabolic torpor. Granted, this magnitude of silly-juice consumption is a rarity; for this lass, such slumbers are usually reserved for evenings following a [long day] or especially significant exertions. More importantly, while Tiya studies hard and runs errands harder, you can rest assured knowing that she parties soft at best - so things never get out of hand. All she needs is some rest… … and some clothes…

⮚ "A Thousand Words" ⮘ Sketch by Anonymous. Color and description by MrMellow. And a picture like this is worth every last one. Or it would be, were the photo actually taken. Thankfully, Esu’s not a pervert. Okay, not the indecent kind of pervert. Okay, not the indecent kind of pervert who would snap an unwitting tiddypic. But she is the kind of prankster that would make her girlfriend think she did for all of five seconds. There isn’t even a film roll in the camera, but the sleepyhead in the frame doesn’t need to know that. Her frantic blushing and chasing will last for a few seconds before the reveal that it was all a goof, and then she’ll… keep chasing Esu for teasing her like that… It all started a week or so ago, when Tiya got word from contacts in the Dragonscale Expedition that she was requested as a cataloguer for the now-mostly-safe Dragon Isles. The organization needed someone to go into the not-so-safe areas and document fantastical mysteries and locales that’d spark intrigue in the hearts of prospective adventurers. In essence: Advertising, but built on the back of discovery. Naturally, the errand girl agreed - and, wanting to go on an adventure, Esu tagged along! They took a loaned camera with them to document their finds, but were far too tired on the very last evening to remember to return it. And so, during the following morning’s talk of making that right, Esu fiddled around and saw an opening. Can you blame her? Tiya gets flustered at the drop of a hat, and Esu likes to watch her pivot from indignity to laughter, then try - and fail - to harass back. But the reaction is stronger here, and Esu finds herself fleeing down the hall, where she must remember that she’s dating a mage. As in, one who could bind someone mid-chase and exact revenge for making a fool of her. For now, it was a mere photo-op scamper - which you can read about Esu causing [here] But perhaps a little back-and-forth is what Esu wants…

⮚ "Long Day" ⮘ Art by SidmonTheBear on FA. Description by MrMellow. But you’re gonna make it a long night, aren’t you~? Put yourself in the shoes of Tiya’s girlfriend for a moment, then tell me that you wouldn’t help the mage take a load off her soft, non-battle-hardened feet after she’s spent all day doing a bunch of trivial crap. Writing dissertations and research papers comes with a minimal amount of responsibility, but Tiya’s a frontrunner in a field, so sometimes she has to travel here and there and everywhere to keep the high-ranking people of Azeroth in the know. She’s been doing that from sunrise, so by sunset, she’s more than willing to accept your ministrations~... She truly had been up since before sunrise, when only the radiance lit the sky with no sun to speak of yet. Tiya’s tasks were to travel first to Stormwind Keep and meet with High Exarch Turalyon and Mathias Shaw of SI:7, then port to Dalaran for a meeting the Conclave, then one with Khadgar, Kalec of the Blue Dragonflight, and Alleria Windrunner, all so they could relay this to members of their respective factions - with Khadgar’s being specifically the Council of Six, not merely the Kirin Tor. It was all so much, and her poor legs were so tired afterward - her feet so worn - that her boots were off the moment she hit the couch. But then you started staring, and from the looks of her splaying and the slow sock pull, she’s taken notice. Still, from the perspective of a caring partner, those pads could use a gentle touch. She keeps them in cushy footwear, and we know she doesn’t get much exercise as a full-time mage, so they’re feeling extra tender and in need of a helping hand after today. Good thing the poor girl’s got someone to saunter over and knead deeply into her delicate pads while pretending not to be weird about it! Kidding, kidding… ... there’s no pretending, because who would that fool~?

⮚ "Up Pondering" ⮘ Art by Shadoca on FA. Description by MrMellow. Little Miss Bookworm, your other half says it’s bedtime. Esu loves giving Tiya gifts, but usually in the form of neat rocks, flowers, and so on - not magical artifacts. And certainly not ones that reek of dark magic. In the shaman’s defense, Tiya’s been studying terrible magics, thus the idea behind the gift is, “You’re studying Void stuff, so maybe you’ll find a use for this?” As it happens, the orb reveals rippling purple and red clouds of malignance and pulses with energy that can only be described as imperative, so naturally Tiya wants to study it. Albeit, for more reasons than simple arcane curiosity. Upon gifting the orb, Esu let slip that she’d procured it from a warlock who’d set upon her with harmful intent. Thoughts of ‘who would dare’ came to mind, and not just with regard to thoughts of retaliation. Having stopped many schemes before, both Tiya and Esu had enemies all over the world, but none had such austere designs as to harass nemeses walking a road in The Barrens. Esu dispatched her adversary without issue, but Tiya wished she’d investigated the man’s identity or allegiance rather than simply nick his swirling orb. Failing a person of interest, the mage kept the orb in her study. She’d discover whom it belonged to eventually; the trick was keeping the ensuing conversation between her and them civil. She keeps it just outside her peripheral vision when sitting at her desk so it won’t distract her, but her sense of wonder gets the better of her with occasional glances. Tiya recalls how the stone she was given by a Void Priest awakened her sense to see and feel through the lens of others. Can that knowledge be used with this orb to discover its secrets? Every few nights, she’s awake, pondering this and attempting to attune to the orb until she invariably hears a knock. “Hey,” Esu chides, poking her head in. “It’s, like… four in the morning.”

⮚ "Relief" ⮘ Art by SidmonTheBear on FA. Description by MrMellow. Something much needed, as of late. Azeroth has been through much. Four years ago, the sky above Icecrown was sewn shut, and the torn fabric of reality was rewoven. The next three years welcomed silence in the world, and gloom slumbered. Of course, that had to change at some point. The Dragon Isles awoke with an ever-evolving familial squabble that threatened to - as with many things - consume the planet. Now? Well, now it’s over. A duo of threats, dead; a World Tree born into the world as a pleasant surprise to night elves who desperately need a home. And yet, Tiya can’t relax. Between her studies, she was already stressed enough. But then, the threat of an Incarnate burning down another World Tree? The wounds of Teldrassil’s burning took its toll on her, and the idea that she had something to prove by stopping it happening again rooted into her mind. For the duration of Fyrakk’s menace on the Emerald Dream, Tiya was inconsolably aggressive, to the concern of peers and loved ones alike. It was over now, but the anxiety lingered - pervaded both her waking and dreaming mind. So… she stepped away from it all for a little while. As the night elves flocked to Amirdrassil and all celebrated, Tiya took her darling Esu and went home. She wanted to visit family, but most importantly: A little spot from her childhood. Resting here, she’s finding a road to peace inside her mind that she’s been after for years, thanks in no small part to one Esu Rockbelly for having the ability to remind Tiya of the simplest things and having them jumpstart the mage’s train of thought. A dinner reminder could spur a meal idea, bed reminders could help Tiya plan her day, and asking her to take a break could net a vacation to her homeland and some skinny dipping - both of which [you can read about here] I’m sure Esu doesn’t mind.

⮚ "Light Reading" ⮘ Art by Anonymous. Description by MrMellow. Contrary to 'light', the room is dim and the book regards her heavy paws. Did you know that the Kirin Tor, the most powerful arcane organization on Azeroth, has books about fetishes? I don’t mean the religious object type of fetish - though they have troves of tomes on those as well; I mean the deviant sort of fetish. The kind that puts funny little thoughts like, ‘Man, her feet are cute,’ in the heads of people like you! It might seem odd that the Kirin Tor has books about that stuff, but if there’s knowledge to be had, those wizards in the sky want access to it. Question is: When would anyone ever use it? First, some context. Tiya accepted Esu’s tickle kink enough to allow her to indulge in it, sure, but her second fascination - which had prompted Esu to steal glances of her panda partner’s paws every so often - remained hidden due to social pressure. [Read about all that here], if you want. However, Tiya eventually coerced the second interest out during a drunken game of Truth or Dare. In support of this podal peculiarity, Tiya studied while Esu was out on a caravan gig for a few days. Having no foot fixation herself, there was much to learn. For instance: The importance of pedicures, good moisturizer, and exfoliation. But, as Esu returned one night, Tiya was ready to show off what she was most happy to have learned: What makes 'feet people' like her tick. Tiya considers herself to be an intellectual and studious lady, but how could she claim that if she turned her nose up at the opportunity to do research on a topic of interest? And indeed, this topic does interest her, because she’s mentioned crass men who cat-called her in sandals, so she’s only known ‘feet people’ as creeps. But… it can’t be that bad if her funny, charismatic sweetie of a girlfriend is into it, right~? Some kisses and nuzzles might feel nice, even! Want to [learn why that’s a short-sighted thought]

⮚ "Happy Umm Uhh" ⮘ Lines by flytermo2 on FA. Color and description by MrMellow. Tiya just wants to make sure she gets it right. A decorated abode, festive attire, a gift for her darling dearest, and most important of all: Holiday spirit. The only issue is that Esu’s a pain to get gifts for, being the type to never ask for more than a hearty dinner. In the past, Tiya’s gotten her puzzle cubes, cool rocks to fuel her earthen fascination, and made her fancy clothing, but the shaman insists all she’s “asking for” this Winter Veil is Tiya. Cute as that is, the mage wants something to wrap for all of her friends, and her girlfriend - the most important type of friend - is being a pain! Thankfully, a venture to her family out in Halfhill for advice resulted in an obvious idea: Tea. The blend she settled on had an initially sweet lychee flavor, which faded into jasmine, orchid, and honey. Each sip ended on earthy notes, which is what convinced Tiya to buy a hefty amount as a gift. That, and the fact that Jasmine is her lady’s middle name. Before she knew it, there she was, dressed up in a silly outfit in front of the fireplace. The fire had since died, and the two went to retire to bed, but Tiya kept the tree’s magelights up for just a bit longer and pulled out a box. Extending it in one hand and scratching her arm with the other, she looked at the floor and cleared her throat. “Ahem,” she said, verbally for some reason, “Happy… Winter Veil… ?” Yeah, I’d say she’s getting it right. Those traditional dwarves in Ironforge can rant and rave about how the true Feast of Winter Veil isn’t about that ho-ho-hokey gift-giving nonsense, but sometimes it’s nice to get something special from someone you love. It doesn’t have to be expensive or ornate - just something that came from the heart. In this case, a little taste of Tiya’s homeland that reminded her fondly of her sweetheart. Between tea and a blanket, it's time to share warmth on a cold winter night.

⮚ "Happy Hummina Huh" ⮘ Lines by flytermo2 on FA. Color by MrMellow. After giving Esu [the first present] Tiya had another. In a flash, she was bare, quickly presenting an identical box. Within it, a coupon laid neatly upon a silk pillow, surrounded by rose petals. With calligraphy that rivaled modern printing and golden parchment edges, it read: "You get ten minutes. Don't hold back." If you know, you know. And let's be honest. If you know my gallery, you know. Merry Christmas, everyone~...

⮚ "Campfire Cooking" ⮘ Lines by flytermo2 on FA. Color and description by MrMellow. And good looking (hehe rhyme). Goodness gracious, girl, what deity gave you all that rump? The god of glutes? The titan of tush? The loa of… lower bodies… ? No, that was a stretch. Fact is, Tiya’s just built that way. Hard to tell through her casual clothes, and even harder to tell through her formal attire, but not that hard to tell when she’s stripped down in the midday sun. But enough about her buns; let’s talk about the bread. Why is she bare-handing a tray with a fresh loaf on it? And is that a little furnace in front of her? Indeedy indeed. When Esu was leaving on a job one morning, Tiya woke up in time to tag along. It was a lengthy trek across The Barrens, but Mage Refreshments™ were a welcome boost to morale. The caravan arrived at Ratchet late, so Esu’s original plan was to stay at her old campsite, which is why Tiya came with. The site was nearby, the sunset was pretty, and the two ladies slept shortly after dinner in Esu’s undiscovered, undisturbed tent site. But when Esu woke, she… smelled baked goods? Indeed, Tiya had taken to bakin’ when she rose, but… hadn’t taken to putting on clothes. Don’t worry; she’d already cast an invis-bubble on the campsite last night; she just wanted to give Esu something to double-take at. Seeing as that’s a fresh loaf of bread and an active furnace oven, Esu might have a brief moment of wondering how Tiya’s holding that tray, but the answer is… she’s a fire mage. She sort of has to know how to handle temperatures, silly bear. Not that you’d catch her like this if it was cold out, though; she hates brisk weather unless there are blankets or snugglebuddy. Good thing she had both last night, then. And even better than that, you can [read about it right here]!

⮚ "Fancy Seeing You Here" ⮘ by FinFenArt on FA. Description by MrMellow. A fortuitous arrival, clearly appreciated. Tiya doesn’t usually scamper off to drink with others; if she’s drinking with company, it’s either at an event or in the comfort of her own domicile. When she goes out for a quick bout of people-watching, it’s spur-of-the-moment and without much mingling in mind. That isn’t to say she doesn’t appreciate a random approach - any chance to socialize is one she’ll take! Usually, the people who approach are newcomers with pickup lines and an ulterior motive, but sometimes they’re people she hasn’t seen in a while. Like today, when she’d been thinking rather hard about some interpersonal business and wanted a drink from a place where people mind their business after a day of walking about the city of Stormwind. With a mug or two of booze, Tiya leaned against the bar counter, her own thoughts on her personal matters limbered by drink. But just when she reached a mental impasse, her good friend Cordell Godwinne meandered in. Seeing how the Stormwind native was used to enabling connections - [addressed in another tale] (QSFW, kinks ahead), he had just the right perspective to help Tiya through her own doubts on the matter. Of course, she had to catch his attention first, but a flashy mage hand, a wave, and her winning smile did the trick just fine. It’s been a while since these two shared a drink, actually. If she had more time, I’m sure Tiya would like to tell Cordell about the gentleman who told her she was, “built like the perfect sandwich: Too big for two hands.” (Real thing a player told her in-game!) Perhaps next time, she can talk about how things go between her and whomever she'll taking his advice regarding! And if you’re curious to know more about that, perhaps [the story about it] would interest you? If it wouldn’t interest you… then, you’re no fun.

⮚ "Tiya Ref" ⮘ Art by FinFenArt on FA. Description by MrMellow. Last, but certainly not least! It’s a bit ironic that the second-longest-running character on my roster was the very last to get a ref sheet, but it makes sense when you consider the fact that most of the following I’ve garnered is here for pokémon! … And men! But, seeing as I’ve been playing WoW since 2016 - and playing this lass since 2017, she definitely deserves a formal listing. Plus, I went and made all this lore for her in the past half-year or so! And you’ve already seen her in my gallery, sure, but now I get to talk about her in ways that aren’t scandalous. So, meet Tiya. She’s an intellectual panda gal who spends a lot of her time cooped up in her study, but is trying to get out and socialize… to varying levels of success. Not easy when she goes around wearing her fancy mage garb, making people assume she’s important and coloring the way they interact with her. Sure, Tiya is an archmage of the Kirin Tor, but she prefers folks remain unaware! If she really doesn’t like the attention and wants to seem normal, she ought to stop the sesquipedalian speech! Like that! Tiya’s musings can run a bit complicated, given her erudite disposition, but she can filter things for the layman just fine. She has a good-natured, wry humor to her, though. Catch her easing up - or with a bellyful of ale - and you’ll see~… As a cub, she caused arcane accidents for as long as she could recall. Meditation barely kept things in check until the Alliance and Horde brought war to her home. They also brought the Kirin Tor, who took her in and helped her hone those latent abilities. During the Legionfall campaign, she earned the title of Archmage - which she feels she is ill-suited for, as all she wants is to help people. So, what does an archmage help people with? Simple! … Errands. Errands and un-hexing apprentices that turned themselves into newts.

⮚ "Gigglemancy" ⮘ Art by C-Forge on FA. Description by MrMellow. Mental note: Leave totems to shamans. Poor Tiya. Lass just can’t catch a break! First it was a [portal mishap] then it was [a trap that her new friend sprung], and now a totem that seems to have been attuned to something as silly as tickling-– Do you know how hard it must be to harness that? To be one with mirth and manipulate it in reality, like plucking at the threads of merriment itself? Well, it would seem the Laughing Skull Orcs on Draenor figured that out. Not only that; they managed to infuse a totem with an essence such that even the most grizzled warriors can’t resist its influence. Tiya had just acquired this totem from a trusted source. It came with instructions: “The orcs that made this totem designed it to produce noise, so do soundproof your chambers before you attempt attunement.” Given Tiya’s trust, she had no reason to find this suspicious, following the instructions given. For good measure, she set up a containment ward. This would suppress any outward force that tried to affect her once she attuned. As with portals, this was not Tiya’s area of expertise. She set the wards to not just suppress, but restrain. This is a mistake many amateur wardcrafters make. So, since an essence can’t be restrained, it defaulted to the other thing that was moving. And, well… something produced a loud noise, alright. This totem was a gift, you know. A gentleman she hit it off and stayed in touch with gave it to her. This guy has ears in the right places, but he doesn’t blab for coin; Tiya’s his pal. You can read all about the artifacts he informs her of [in this story here!] Suffice it to say, when he hears that his buddy was involved in an accident that left her explaining herself to her colleagues and embarrassed as hell, he sends her an otherworldly doodad to study. Surely that’ll put a smile on her face, eh~?

⮚ "Studying Rocks" ⮘ Art by GoldenEmotions on FA. Description by MrMellow. Especially when you’re literally studying rocks. Yeah, bad pun, but don’t blame me! The joke belongs to Tiya’s current study buddy. And when rocks are involved, who else would that be but her pal, Esu? The two are getting a little closer now, so it’s progressing from waving hello when they see each other around Valdrakken to inviting each other to grab lunch. And, in this case, from getting food with each other to dipping into the mage’s personal study. But, if Esu was invited, why does Tiya look so surprised? Well, you see… timing is everything. During dinner, Tiya told Esu the story of what happened with that totem. She thought it’d give her a good laugh, considering how they met, but Esu got flustered as she listened on. Ideas were planted in her head more so than they already were, much to her chagrin. Flash forward a bit, and Tiya invited Esu over to study rocks drenched in magic. They’d been left in Dalaran, so Esu was left to wander Tiya’s home for a few minutes while they were retrieved. Porting in while Esu was downstairs, Tiya called her friend back up and entered her study with books to sort. She simply didn’t expect her friend to find her when she’d crawled onto the desk with her tuchus and tootsies accentuated. Needless to say, Esu’s gaze was ever-so-briefly captivated. Just as yours and mine would be, I’m sure. Hey, if Tiya didn’t want people to get ideas, she shouldn’t have told Esu to “imagine how bad” the totem’s ethereal fingers were and told her how hard she was laughing! And maybe she shouldn’t have taken off her sandals before trying to stand on her desk! Scared of getting it dirty? It’s nothing a little elbow grease can’t clean, Tiya, you silly goose. Oh well. It makes for a cute story, which you can [read here]! After staring a little longer, of course.

⮚ "Portal Pandæmonium" ⮘ Art by lewdango on FA. Description by MrMellow. The groan-inducing pun is balanced by the laugh-inducing circumstance. The pandaren people have a reputation of relishing tranquility and practicing self-control. Now consider a pandaren archmage of the Kirin Tor. Scholarly, professional, with all the restraint of their people. Now imagine a woman of this modest caliber finding out just how sensitive she is, having all her meditative training shattered by a gentle touch. Alas, poor Tiya. It seems that even the most experienced of mages get a cast wrong sometimes! Thankfully, this mistake is harmless. … Well, not to her pride, but you get what I mean. Archmage Tiya had commissioned a compendium of useful information from someone with the Dragonscale Expedition, and they transcribed and compiled the immense workload in just a couple days! This caught our lovely pandaren mage here at a crossroads, as she had been sorely lacking in rest, but now valued reading her new compendium over a warm bed. Figuring it wouldn’t hurt to take a few preliminary notes, she visited her study hall and tried to work, only to yearn for something to take the edge off. A hot spring soak would do the trick, and two portals on her desk could let her kick back and be studious. That is, if she got the portals right, which… shoot, see for yourself. Stuck as she was, it’s a good thing her colleague heard her. Though damn, who wouldn’t have? Definitions of ‘pandemonium’ use such parameters as ‘noisy’ and ‘uproar’, so I’m inclined to say this qualifies. Merriam-Webster calls it ‘a chaotic situation,’ and I would say that’s accurate. A dropped book, a flailing body, a tormented tootsie, and - much to the victim’s embarrassment - a captive audience of one, all coming together to help justify my terrible pun. And you can read all about it here, in a story I wrote~! Sure hope this giggly girl doesn’t get into any more mishaps, eh~?
