Generational gaps do become quite the thing in the DragonScape, between the 1st generation and their offspring, the 2nd generation, and eventually the 3rd generation.

Having that sort of fundamental disconnect of knowing or not knowing the prepulse world tends to create rifts in various aspects of life between the older drekir who knew of that old life, and the newer drekir who only know the life they live now. It hasn't been enough to upend the societies built up thus far, but there is definitely a generational rift.

Particularly in the Great Lake with the Winnebagons, the War of the High Lake Tail is broadly seen as a failing of the ideas of the 1st generation drekir of various factions and, with the 2nd generation taking charge of fighting that war, has led to a larger independent cultural identity that has begun growing from the younger drekir who have started to take the reins of the culture

The little story there is rather dark, lots of 1st generation drekir in the region survived and starved in their first winter in the Shrine, having woken up in the late autumn there was no time to prepare.

But the Shrine likely made itself important thanks to keeping the entire population of survivors from freezing and dying out.

That wraps up this 3 chapter act of The Long Hike! So have a few short announcements as this whole 3 chapter act of the Long Hike has finished! A pretty clean sweep of bandits with the crew headed East to the Great Lake. Which is exciting as the Great Lake, while not the oldest lore in the DragonScape as a setting (from 2018/2019 is regardless close to the oldest lore that has been sitting around for 5 years gathering dust. Gotta get in contact with some folks to work out some potential updates to the lore that they had contributed all that time ago while updating some of my own lore. It's gonna be a neat part of the setting!

First things first, gonna take a week to breathe for a moment

Work on some patreon stuff, prep the old 2018 Great Lake lore, just breathe and rest my carpal tunnel addled wrists. You know poor me I am an ancient man older than what the young can even comprehend! I am almost 29! so very, very, very ancient and withered am I!

but regardless, takin a week to breathe and then I'll get back into the comic, but that comic is likely gonna be a side story

A glance into the future!

20,000 years into the future as a matter of fact, Gonna tell a Thalmvaric side story as I think its about time to put that perhaps less heavily talked about part of the setting online into a story. Truth is i've been slowly pecking away at the setting in my personal time, a fair bit has been communicated on discord with a lot of thalmvaric lore kept to myself. So perhaps this may come as a left hook as far as settings of the DragonScape but I am still excited to show it off!

anywho thats it for this chapter! Time to head onto the War Trail! I'll take a week to work out patreon stuff so first page will come up a week from Sunday!

But I do want to cover some stuff, made a journal about it and I'll keep it to the stuff that will impact here!

So lets touch on some coming changes to the Comic Format, Upload Schedule, and whatnot!
I am trying to prepare myself for entering the work force and, as life is already constricting free time where it can and I see no difference in the coming career and whatnot that I am going to try starting and I am going to assume its a 40/week job, as about everyone has!
I have uploaded comics on 40/week jobs before but the comics have gotten more complex over the years and sure, I have a streamlined style but I need to make sure I can get comics out reliably, got a story to tell and its already been a long time to tell just a small bit of it.

So there is going to be a bit of a format change
The comics are going to have 2 things happen:

1) I am gonna start increasing the length of the comics to 12-18 panels, so each page is going to be longer than ever before.

however

2) I am going to try and focus on 1 comic per week for a Sunday upload.

So there will be only one upload of one comic, but the comic will be longer to cover more ground! Overall it should be about or only a bit less comic in regards to total panel count but hopefully that will help make my ability to draw the comics more efficient and allow me to keep on top of the ever increasing stress of life.
but important to note

This will also result in slightly shorter chapters as longer pages means that 30 pages is more like 20 pages, 40 pages is more like 30 etc. Same amount of story ideally! Just packed into fewer longer and denser pages.

3) This will be adaptable to how life changes, if I have more free time, I will draw more comics! simple as! So if I am wrong this can always adapt to the needs! And if the story calls for it I may also make shorter pages... the goal is to make longer pagers over all!
Next is upload time, depending on the sort of job I wind up getting I may not be able to upload at the 3-5PM mountain time that I normally do! So I may shift the uploads here to 8:15AMish mountain time. I already do that on most other sites with this one being something of the unique case.

That will be something I will communicate as it comes as having time to upload to e621 more specifically is important. This sites a bit denser to upload to than most others! I actually have a google doc just for tags.

A quick 2 parter comic to the Long Tail on request from some folks.

Egg laying for drekir is a quick and relatively ok process when compared to human birth (they are built to lay pleeeenty of eggs in their lifetimes) and it gets easier with each lay.

Folks had requested a short followup to The Long Tail (both chapters) for Imuas consequent eggnancy and egg laying and, while I showed the pregnancy after the first one in the Main Long Hike comic, I had not shown the actual process so I decided I would do a few followup doodles to show some pregged imua and the egg they would probably lay.

A couple weeks after what happened with The Long Tail and Jat, true to their promise, is giving Imua a few neat tricks on how to not choke on a male partner

Gonna slip some nsfworldbuilding rambles here.
